Ian qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1972, when he moved to the Gloucestershire area. He has over 30 years professional experience in private practice, contracting and local government. For eight years until 1992 he held the position of Chief Quantity Surveyor at Cheltenham Borough Council.
